Important information

1. The Bidvest Unity Walk is only open to Bidvest employees and their family members. The walk is limited to 4 family members per employee.
2. All Bidvest employees will receive a T-shirt, race number and refreshment vouchers, once registered for the event. These items together with the refreshment vouchers for your family members will be delivered to your office via your team leaders.
3. Please remember to wear your T-shirt and race number to the walk. No T-shirt and race number….no walk! This also applies to your family members / guests, who need to wear their Guest Numbers.
4. Catering and entertainment will be provided.
5. A kiddies area with entertainment will be available.
6. Parking will be pre-booked within walking distance from the venue. More information will be provided to team leaders closer to the event.

How to Register Your Team: - Please click the register your team button above; - Team leader must fill in all the required fields carefully. Contact details and delivery details are important as race paraphernalia will be delivered to the teams office. - Team leaders will create a user name and password. This will be used to update entries, add more entrants and check the delivery status of your order. - Once you have created your team, you will be sent an email confirmation to the address provided. Please keep this email for your use during the entry process. - Instructions will be provided on the Registration page to assist you!

 

How to Manage Your Team: - Following the creation of the team, with all the details above, the team leader can now add entrants. - You can do this at any stage after you have created your team. - However, you will only have 5 working days to add in all your entrants! This is to ensure that your team receives its race paraphernalia in time to be handed out. - Once your team is closed, you can add more people, but you will have to create another team! To do this, you will have to follow the steps above ‘Register Your Team”. This team will receive its race packs separately. - Please see more specific  instructions on the ‘Manage Your Team’ page.

 

Bidvest Unity Walk FAQ

Below is a list of Frequently Asked Questions. Please read these carefully before submitting a race-related query.

Entry Question

How do I enter?
You need to enter online, on www.bidvestunitywalk.com.

Who is my team leader?
Your team leader is the designated person responsible for managing your team; this includes everything from capturing team entrants, to receipt and distribution of race packs. Please contact your manager for information.

Do I need to enter my family details?
No, only the employee’s information is needed. Only information that is required is the number of guests you will be bringing to the event.

What do I get in my race pack?
Your race pack will contain: a T-shirt, race number, refreshment voucher for you and your family members.

May I enter my friends?
No. Friends cannot be entered into the event unless of course your friends are Bidvest employees.

May I bring more than 4 people/guests?
No. The walk is limited to 4 family members per employee.

How much is it to enter?
Registration for this event is absolutely FREE!!!

May I fax my entry through
No, all entries for this event MUST be done online. Faxed, emailed or telephonic entries will not be accepted. Please speak to your team captain about entering you into the event.

Event Questions

May I run?
Unfortunately the Bidvest Unity Walk is a walking event, so for the sake of keeping with the theme of the event, running will not be permitted.

May I bring my dogs?
Unfortunately for this event, you cannot bring your pets along with you.

Will food/drinks be sold?
Yes, there will be food and refreshment stands at all venues.

Are there water points on the route?
Yes, there will be 4 water points placed in strategic places along the entire route. More refreshments will also be provided at the finish point.

Where may I leave my bags?
There will be tog bag areas designated at each venue with security.  However, please note that Bidvest shall not be held responsible for any loss, theft or damage of bags or personal items.

Does my family have to walk with me?
No, your family/guests don’t have to walk with you; they can wait for you in the stadium at pre-defined areas. These will be clearly marked.

What do I need to get into the venue?
You only need your walk number in order to enter the venue.

What happens if I forget my number at home?
A query table will be set up at the venue(s) to deal with race queries similar to these, so just make your way to the query table and get a number reallocated.

Do I have to walk or may I just attend?
You can just attend but please note that your race number is your entry to the venue.

What entertainment will be available?
There will be a kids' area and music throughout the day.

Venue Questions

Is Bidvest organizing transport?
No, unfortunately all employees are responsible for their own transport.

What time do I need to get to the venue?
Gates to the venues will open at 7:00am, so make your way there early to avoid delays.

Where do I park?
Parking areas will be clearly marked at the venues, and marshals will help direct traffic, so kindly co-operate with them to avoid delays.

Is the venue wheelchair friendly?
Yes, please arrange with your team leader or call the call center to arrange for wheelchair access.

May I bring a gas braai/ gazebo/ umbrella?
Unfortunately not.  Gazebos, umbrella stands, gas braai stands or any open fires will NOT be allowed in the venues.

May I bring alcohol into the venue?
No alcohol is allowed into the venue.
